welcome to reading week

Well hello, those-who-are-about-to-be-examined, official observers, et al. I thought I'd give an invitatory post to test the functionality of our little group blog. I can also give a few suggestions to those of you who may be new to using Blogger/Blogspot (and simultaneously test what bullet points look like in our template):
  • If you're an Apple person (like myself), Camino and Firefox work much better than Safari with the Blogger posting engine.
  • If you don't feel like checking the website constantly, make use of a newsreader like Vienna (Mac) or Google to download feeds for you and update you when people post.
  • In addition to making links to other things (like, for example, something that happened in your town), link to other posts from the blog if they are relevant (like this post from a couple weeks ago); you can find the permanent URL ("permalink") for the post by clicking on the title from the main blog page.
That's enough for now. Maybe you know all that. One more feature to test--blockquotes:
Almighty Father, whose blessed Son before his passion prayed
for his disciples that they might be one, as you and he are one:
Grant that your Church, being bound together in love and
obedience to you, may be united in one body by the one Spirit,
that the world may believe in him whom you have sent, your
Son Jesus Christ our Lord; who lives and reigns with you, in
the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen. (BCP, p. 255)
